SAG Awards

Although I try to announce it in advance every year during our "Point The Remote" segment, I want to stress this year that if you are a fan of celebrities from film and television, and the shows themselves, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards is better than any Academy Awards (Oscars) show I've seen, and I always watch all the awards shows.

SAG, in case you don't know a lot about it, is the actors' union, so this show is all about the actors and ensemble casts of film and television. It's a well done show without all the unnecessary, overblown stuff in the Oscars that prevents us from hearing good winning speeches. The thing I always hate about the Oscars is how they end up rushing all the winners' speeches, preventing us from what we most want to see, all because they need time for their ridiculous pre-produced stuff that takes up more than three hours. So, although it's on TNT and not network tv, next year watch the SAG's if you really want good entertainment!
