Best Places To Raise Children

Business Week has released its list of the best places to raise children. This year, they went state by state. They took towns with at least 50,000 residents and a median family income between $40,000 and $100,000 and then narrowed the number of towns down based on school performance, number of schools, household expenditures, crime rates, air quality, job growth, family income, diversity, and museums, parks, theaters, and other amenities. School performance and safety were weighted the most important, but amenities and affordability were important, too. And since one of the most important factors was affordability, many otherwise great towns didn't make the list because they are too expensive for most people to live there.
